EC sensor와 ACPI mutex

ASUS mainboard는 Super I/O chip과 ACPI embedded controller, 즉 EC register를 통해 hardware monitoring 정보를 제공합니다. 일부 sensor는 EC를 통해서만 접근할 수 있습니다.

Driver는 chipset PCH temperature, CPU package temperature, motherboard temperature, `T_Sensor` header reading, VRM temperature를 읽습니다.

Fan·water channel로는 CPU_Opt fan RPM, VRM heatsink fan RPM, chipset fan RPM, `Water flow meter` header의 RPM, `Water In`과 `Water Out` temperature header를 읽습니다. 또한 CPU current와 CPU core voltage를 읽습니다.

Sensor value는 EC register에서 읽습니다. Board firmware와 경쟁하는 일을 피하도록 driver는 WMI method가 EC에 접근할 때 사용하는 것과 같은 ACPI mutex를 획득합니다.

Module parameter `mutex_path`는 board별 ACPI mutex path를 override하는 string입니다. 대부분 board에서 path는 같지만 future BIOS update가 이를 바꾸면 driver가 갱신되기 전까지 이 parameter로 저장값을 대체할 수 있습니다. 전용 mutex 대신 ACPI global lock을 사용하려면 special string `:GLOBAL_LOCK`을 전달합니다.
